History

LANACare was created by a Danish nurse Jeannette Almstrøm in 1990 in Denmark. Being a mother of 3 children herself Jeannette Almstrøm developed a range of products for mothers and babies in organic pure merino wool. Being a nurse and having a professional background in textile & design was a perfect combination of the skills. She saw wool as perfect and natural material for newborns. Organic wool is very breathable and soft to the skin. It does not irritate skin and feels pleasant to a tiny newborn. Wool by itself is a 100% natural and biodegradable material, which has been used by many generations before us. At LANAcare we produce each item to promote health & well-being of the nursing mother and the baby, to provide the soothing comfort & breathable warmth that only pure wool can give.

Today all LANACare activity is managed by Jeannette Almtrøm herself, who is passionate about finding new sustainable materials for use in new products – promoting not only the health of an individual, but that of our Mother Earth. Wool isn’t just good for human, it’s also a good choice for the environment as it is a sustainable and environment friendly material. LANACare only chooses clean and untreated wool in the production. Moreover we aim to work with farmers who take good care of both their animals and the soil.

Over the years LANACare production and distribution quantities have developed very much. Today it is a well-known brand, with our own production factory based in Lithuania and from here products being sold and in 28 countries around the world.
